Sunday, May 15, 2011. On May 15th, 2011 a Chinook helicopter carrying 4 Canadian soldiers and a Canadian Press reporter crashed while attempting to land on a dry river bed in complete darkness, somewhere in the Panjwaii District of Afghanistan. All souls on board the helicopter survived the crash, but some were seriously hurt. A second Chinook was also apart of this mission, which was called off after this incident.
